After a long day of shopping this bistro always hits the spot. I definitely recommend cafe bistro to anyone who wants a quick lunch or wants a family gathering. I had the cilantro lime shrimp salad which was exceptional. I was told to try the crab/lobster bisque which I wasn't too fond of. It was good but not the greatest I've had. It was a bit too oily and the consistency wasn't the best. However it was still tasty. Don't forget dessert !! The white chocolate creme brûlée is to die for !!

I've been to these Nordstrom bistros all over the U.S. Never been disappointed as today. My favorite 1/2 serving of Pear and blue cheese salad is not fresh. Seems like they made it yesterday and stuck it in the refrigerator overnight. The lettuce is limp and all the ingredients are cold and tasteless. The dish is sweaty and looks unappetizing . Nordstrom you can do better. On the other hand the breakfast sandwich of my companion is excellent. Disappointed.

I've been coming to the Nordstrom bistro for yearsssss. What I love about it is that it's consistent. No matter which bistro you go to in what store, all the dishes are consistent. You're not going to have a good salad at one location and then the same salad be bad at another location. I have to admit though I REALLY wish they got a new menu or changed things around occasionally because it's been the same for the last 4 years I've been going to it. There's only so many crab bisques girl can eat!! I recommend ordering the steak arugula salad, to die for. Except order the dressing on the side!! Because they can sometimes drench it a bit too much. Lastly, a lot of people like the bread pudding but mehh I found it kind of whatever, like a piece of bread with sauce on it. Don't waste the calories in my opinion.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick lunch after doing a little shopping. We weren't starving so we sat down and just ordered a couple salads. The atmosphere is very nice and elegant and its not a huge place but the tables are spaced out enough so you don't get a crowded feeling at all. You can see the kitchen and the chef's preparing your food which is kind of nice just to watch. My wife ordered a Chicken Ceasar salad which was served perfectly. Crisp cold lettuce with a warm freshly grilled chicken breast. The dressing was just perfect, not too oily and not too much. I ordered the Salmon Nicoise salad which I'm happy report was very very good. The salmon was cooked perfectly and served piping hot and covered with a pesto sauce that tasted marvelous. All too often salmon is overcooked and dried out but not in this case. Also, I've never had a salad with roasted potatoes in it but I have to admit they were pretty good. I'm not a big potato fan but my wife is and she gobbled up every one I didn't eat. Overall Cafe Bistro is a nice little lunch place right in the middle of Nordstrom's. If you happen to be shopping and need a bite to eat I highly recommend it.

Nordstrom Cafe Bistro is my favorite restaurant to go to when I'm shopping in Merrick Park or Dadeland Mall. I like how they take your order right away and then take you to your table. I always get the Bistro Club sandwich, which comes with fries. It's is my absolute favorite! The olive sauce it comes with is amazing and serves as a great dipping sauce for the fries! For dessert, I highly recommend the bread pudding. It's a pretty nice size, good enough to for two people to share. Every time I go, I try to get something new. Everything that I have tried so far is delicious. Just a warning-gets packed during lunch hour.

Yum! I come here often for lunch on the weekends while shopping. Their crab bisque is delicious! I usually pair that with the their Asian chicken salad. What I like the most? You can order half portions of almost any salad or sandwich. I've tried the French fries and they are delicious too! There is sometimes a long line/wait to order and be seated. Also, the servers seem very busy and don't check up on the customers for refills as often as they should.

This is an excellent restaurant on the third level of Nordstrom's at Merrick Park in Miami Florida. We had a wonderful lunch and it is a decent value. The staff is accommodating for any gluten-free allergies and the staff is always friendly. As the food is prepared fresh daily it is easy to accommodate the gluten-free. Would recommend to family and friends

I have been to Nordstrom Cafe Bistro several times. Each time, the food is good and the service is quick. Unfortunately, some times the line is out the door and that is not worth the wait. Overall, if you are looking for a quick salad, soup or sandwich this is a solid choice and one of very few in the Merrick Park.

Delicious bowl of crab bisque, also had the club sandwich which was very tasty. To top it off we ordered the bread pudding it is served warm with white melted chocolate and raspberry. amazing atmosphere, servers were on top of making sure that everything was well at the table.

I love the food here . My top picks are the Nicoise Salad w/ Salmon , the bisque soup and the white chocolate bread pudding . If you haven't tried neither , I don't know what your doing . This is it . You will fall in love with all these deliquesce of mouth watering tastes . I went thru a face that this was my addiction . Going back today only proves how wonderful it is to have taste buds to be able to taste such wonderful food . Almost forgot : the garden fried are amazing as well . I think that's what they are called . They sprinkle some herbs . Love it .

My favorite little bistro that always makes my heart happy. Besides the excitement of splurge shopping trips at Nordstrom, my next favorite thing is eating at the bistro. I love the samples of nice wines while im in line. Always great after a long day of shopping. Most of the time i eat here solo, because lets face it who wants to be rushed while shopping? so these are usually my "me time" trips. i love sitting right at the bar of the kitchen. I love the culinary world and watching these guys at work is part of the experience. My most recent visit I had the Citrus Turkey. so good! anything with cranberry chutney is a must for me. Great Great turkey sandwich everything just goes really well together in this sandwich. Including the best thin cut fries ever. i usually don't eat french fries but at this place i cant resist. there is an exception here and at Houstons. My next favorite thing on the menu is the cilantro lime shrimp salad. Huge salad with great flavors. Of the brick oven pizzas, my favorite is the Rustic veggie & three cheese. so many fresh delicious veggies with cheese! You really cant go wrong with anything on the menu, everything on here is a treat. i suggest going everyday until you've tried it all! only reason you dont get all 5 for me is because it takes a while to get your food and by a while i mean more than the norm for a sandwich. I don't mind the wait simply because the food is just so worth it.

This place should be SHUT DOWN for unsanitary reasons and bad service. I used to be a HUGE fan of Nordstrom's Bistro. However, yesterday I ordered the Cilantro Lime Shrimp salad and there was a cockroach in it!!! (No words are enough to describe the feeling of disgust). I asked to speak with the manager and the guy was incredibly disrespectful. First, he told me it was a pecan and wanted to take the plate as fast as possible. Then he came back and said it was another type of bug, and the reason was that "all their food was organic". The excuse they gave me was almost worse than the roach in my salad, which was already unacceptable in such a place. No one else in the table could continue eating. They took the plate so fast that I couldn't take a picture in such state of shock, but I should have, because I'm writing a letter to Nordstrom and I hope some measures are taken.

Absolutely LOVE this place. It's the perfect little place to munch at before, during, or after shopping. Every single item I have tried has been deliciously fresh. I usually order the French onion soup, and goat cheese salad and followed by White Chocolate Pudding Dessert which is to die for. The only thing I don't like is that it gets slammed, and food takes a bit long to arrive, however, I still find myself coming back to this place when I'm in Dadeland. Definitely one of my favorite places at the mall!

I recently left a tip here because I normally am very satisfied, however this time I was not. I wanted to grab something good, quick and healthy. I ordered the cilantro lime shrimp salad which is normally delicious, however I was very disappointed to see the shrimp was not even deveined properly. I got home and did it myself, which is ridiculous. It pretty much ruined my appetite. I've gotten take out from here before with no problem. I understand that they're really busy at times, but they should still deliver the same quality of food. The cashier wasn't exactly pleasant either. Won't be going back anytime soon.

I have been to the Nordstrom Bistro at Merrick Park several times over the past years. It is one of my favorite places to eat in Miami and I've always had a great experience, the food is delicious. I don't write reviews, I mainly read them, but I HAD to write this. Last night (March 12th, 2015) I went there to have dinner with my girlfriend and my mother. After placing our order and sitting down on our table, our drinks arrived. I had ordered a Estrella Damm bottled beer. The beer came with a cold glass for me to pour the beer myself on it. After pouring the beer and having my first sip I noticed there was something solid in my mouth and I quickly had to spit out. To our disgust there was a small ROACH in my drink that I nearly swallowed. I quickly called our server to notify her of the situation. I wasn't sure if the roach had come from the empty glass or from inside the bottled beer. When the server came and took the roach away she brought the supervisor of the shift that merely offered me a FREE DESSERT. I am extremely disappointed at the way the restaurant handled the situation and wouldn't recommend anyone going there after this incident. I am not the type to make a scene and I am sure if I had, they would've handled the situation completely different. I tried being an understanding loyal costumer and they took advantage of my generosity. Just thought other costumers should be informed of this before thinking of going there.

Amazing food, almost everything on the menu is to die for. If you love soup you have to try the crab bisque, it's the best I have had this far and for dessert their amazingly delicious bread pudding. Service is fast but good

I come here solely for the bread pudding.. Many times imitated but never duplicated:) yea everything else is just great.. Place could use alittle soundproofing.. Tends to have a lot of kids at times..

The food was terrible I can't believe they charge people those amounts for sub par food. The manager was some little short guy with too much attitude and was extremely rude.

The best food, drink, and desert while finishing shopping, break in between shopping, or just going back because it's so darn Delish. The Cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad is a must taste! The Bread Pudding, OMG! Go try for yourself.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed the bistro before! Nordstrom's cafe has been a great go-to whenever I want a great entree salad. Seriously, why is it so hard to find good salads? It's a toss up for the fav: The Nicoise Salad with Salmon or the Pear and Gorgonzola with Chicken. Both are great! If you want to carb it up, try the fries. They are the best skinny fries with herbs. The crab bisque is great, too. I think the service is always great there. I believe they close the kitchen around 8:15/8:30, and I've called with only a few minutes to spare, and they always take my order. Love Nordstrom! Although we do take out more often because it's a cafe without windows in the mall, so no real ambiance.

If they would only get an espresso machine then they would be a full 5 stars! I visited a couple of months ago with a girlfriend for lunch. We got there by 11:30am and right before the mad lunch rush. You place your order at the counter and then they bring it to you at your table. We sat in a spacious banquette which was also very comfortable. I started with what was supposed to be a half soup and half sandwich. The sandwich (mojo roasted pork) ended up being very filling because it also came with fries and I barely finished it. I was a little skeptical that Nordstrom would get the mojo pork flavor right but I have to say it was pretty darn good. The bread was perfectly toasted to be crisp but stay in one piece when you bit into it. The crab bisque was delicious and creamy as I like it to be. Just reliving it now as I write about it and look at my photos makes me want to get in my car and go have that again. My girlfriend had the stone fruit salad with spinach and arugula and that was great as well and more than generously served. For dessert, we split the white chocolate bread pudding which did not disappoint. Service was efficient and professional. Again, I don't understand why they do not offer espresso drinks (they even have CAFE as part of their name!) at this kind of place but it would be a much welcomed addition. If ever in the area again, I will definitely return.

I love, love this place! Yes, I used 2 loves. You may see a long line to get seated but don't let that scare you away. It really doesn't take that long to place your order. They don't take your order until their is a table available because the service is so fast, and basically you order at the register and then get seated and they bring the food to you. Even though it may seem like this system doesn't cater to service, ohhhhh it does! The service has been excellent every time I have gone. When there is a long line, they usually bring you some free samples of their soups or pizzas, and the samples in have tried have been delicious! The staff is attentive to your needs. If you are a lover of soups, salads, and sandwiches, then this is your place. My all time favorite is the crab bisque. WOW! Each time I go, I tell myself I will have another soup, but I always end up ordering it because I love it so much. I have tasted other soups and they have all be so good.... and yes of course you can taste any soup you like before ordering it. I have ordered different salads, and I have loved them all. Their desserts are amazing too! I had the white chocolate raspberry bread pudding, and it was epic! So even though it is in a department store, it is really phenomenal. My husband is not a fan of soups, salads and sandwiches. So I usually go with a girlfriend. It is a nice girls lunch!

This is one of my favorite places to eat dinner on a weeknight if I'm in the mood for a quick sit down dinner. I almost always end up here after a visit to Pure Barre or Conscious Movement (in essence killing my workout). I usually order one of their pressed sandwiches. My favorite is the Roasted Chicken & Goat Cheese Panini. It's a bit messy... so beware. But it has a wonderful combination of flavors. The service is always impeccable (like with anything in Nordstrom). Also, the bread pudding here is to die for! A must try!

For the second time they have mess with my order. 1.- time two weeks ago My order was suppose to pick up in 45 minutes I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 1.45 MINUTES. 2.-Today I did order by phone one cesar salad that was order the day before for one or our co-workers and include a chesses bread this time came w/out and w/ a very small portion for sauce. BUT MY ORDER WAS A SAUTEED CHIKEN & ANGEL HAIR PASTA W/OUT TOMATO SAUCE. well surprise came w/tomato sauce and I have to wait 10 minutes more no only that for 18.00 the portion so small and so grease the food that I did not eat. This dog will not bite me again sorry bistro but you must need to work on your dishes if you like a good review

Who would have thought that a place like this could deliver such high quality!!! We had the French dip sandwich and the margherita pizza. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Apparently Many people know how great it is. The place was packed and hard to find a table.

  • Leigh E.

The food is really good, it's true. I don't love that you order at a counter, but they make it the nicest possible counter-ordering experience (food delivered to your table, etc). But this review is about one thing in particular: the white chocolate bread pudding. It's everything the other reviewers say it is. GET IT. Please. If you don't order it the next time you're there, then the terrorists have won.

Had the bistro sandwich for lunch today with a side of fries. The sandwich was pretty filling by itself. The purplish olive sauce comes on the side and goes great as a spread with the bistro sandwich and dipping sauce for the fries. It's a little pricey for a sandwich and fries but the service is fast and a great place for a quick lunch.

I never thought I would buy such expensive food on a regular basis but I do because it is so damn good! Margarita pizza, Bistro Club sandwich, their bistro fries, the bread pudding !!!!! I work near by so I have only ever picked up, never dined in. What I don't like is in the year I have been eating here they keep upping the prices all the time! But still worth it. Bistro Club has turkey, french green beans, bacon, avocado, tomato, deliciaaa!!!! Bread pudding is to die for, always get it warm. comes with so many yummy sauces and white chocolate. It's huge but I deserve to eat the whole thing :p It is worth splurging here to eat a nice meal in a nice place and get the best bread pudding ever.

Everything is amazing here! My top favorites: turkey+goat cheese sandwich, beer & cheese soup, crab bisque, noqious(sp) salad, Asian salad oh and of course the bread pudding is tooooo dieeeee! My favorite! Just don't eat it then go try on dresses. But seriously definitely eat it!

  • Tania G.

I love the cilantro lime shrimp salad, it's just fantastic - the dressing, oh my..i want to put it on everything! The French onion soup is one of the best I've had. My husband loves the Bistro Club - it has chicken, green beans, bacon, tomato, lettuce on toasted bread I'm sure I'm missing some ingredients but you get the gist. The mushroom pizza and margarita pizza are delicious - sometimes a bit too salty for my taste so I always tell them no salt. The french fries with the parsley flakes and kalamata olive aioli are to die for - i know who says French fries are to die for, but it's the dipping sauce that makes them even better! The creme brule & white chocolate bread pudding are so mouthwatering it's ridiculous, give them a try. Decent wine selection too. Overall a great lunch spot!

When I want something truly indulgent for lunch, Nordstrom Bistro comes to mind. But dont let the word "indulgent" fool you...it only applies to the food and not to the prices! I have to save my calories to be able to have the crab bisque and bread pudding...but its worth every sacrifice and every bite!

  • Gaby S.

When i think of the Nordstrom bistro i cant think of anything negative to be quite honest. I came here during my lunch break and was not dissapointed with my experience. Its located on the 3 floor of Nordstrom... dont let that fool you though. I kept hearing about this amazing bread pudding so i had to finally go over there to give this place a try.. Keep in mind: -It is VERY busy during lunch hour. You're gonna be waiting a long time just to order your food. -Get the crab bisque... trust me! -Do not skip dessert! bread pudding is just as amazing as everyone says it is.

The Bistro at Nordstrom is awesome. They have a great selection. The food is always amazing. It's extremely reasonable. My favs are the onion soup, fig salad, french dip sandwich, (any) pizza... you can't go wrong. And if you feel like treating yourself, do not miss out on the best bread pudding!!!!!

  • Aly S.

Everything here is delectable. I've tried a good amount of menu items-- from the sandwiches to the steak-- and I'm yet to find anything that's "just okay". Service is always amazing, and the ambience is very nice.

This is my favorite of the Nordstrom Bistro Cafe's. I love their soups, sandwiches, bistro fries with the kalamata olive dip and of course their white chocolate and rasberry pudding dessert, this dessert is amazing! I have to tell you this is one of the best desserts I have ever had, and I have never had anything like it anywhere else. You must try it! My favorites are the crab bisque soup, french onion soup, bistro club, roasted chicken and goat cheese panini, Always great service here, its great to take a shopping break and relax while enjoying great food.

All of the food served at the Nordstrom Bistro is dependably good; paninis, pizzas, salads. It's pretty straight forward lunch fare, paired with perfectly crisped fries and a black olive aioli for kicks. But where the Nordstrom Bistro really shines is the White Chocolate Bread Pudding: The Nordstrom Bistro is to bread pudding what Publix is to rotisserie chicken: The standard. Phe.Nom.Eh.Nal.

  • Jan N.

Used to come here A LOT when my husband worked in Merrick Park and I had the holidays and summers off (I'm a teacher). The asian chicken salad was always my choice with the banana bread pudding for dessert. I swear I've never tasted another bread pudding as good as the Nordstrom one! The hubs opted for pizza. One thing about that is that the pizzas always change. I don't even think they make the pizzas he used to eat anymore. Sucks. Good food if you're hungry and not in the mood for mall food. If you want bread, you need to ask for it. Just beware that lunch gets super packed.

This place never fails!! There is always people eating here!! Good sign... there is turnover! Ordered the French Onion Soup that was super yummi... lots of onions and the layer of cheese was to die for!! Ordered the black forest ham sandwich and an asian salad. Those are my winners!! The kalamata olive aioli is so delicioushly blended to eat with those fries that you would want to oder extra!!! And for the dessert the famous bread pudding!!

Do fries with a small side of alioli get any better than this? I think not. If only all mall/department store dining was as good as this perhaps I'd better understand people's shopping addictions. Sure, I like to shop at Nordstrom's but my sole reason for even making the trek to the shops is the bistro. It's an upscale, laid back environment which is not easy to do but they do it well. There is always a buzz in the room but the noise is never over bearing. Their portions are generous which helps the price point a bit since you will almost always have enough to share or take home. Their service is typically impeccable as are all their selections. My favorite is the citrus cranberry turkey sandwich and my husband loves their French Onion soup. The kids enjoy dining there as well and typically split something from the regular menu. Now could someone do me a favor and let them know that Cafe AND Bistro are a tad redundant. This isn't the flea market you know, we understand things the first time you say 'em, no need to repeat. But I guess it suits the nose-up shopping environment in which its situated. Perhaps this is why their wait staff is so amicable; they're working for their tips and hoping everyone in there can actually afford the Manolos on the Primer Ground 1st Floor.

I work in the mall so when it's time for lunch, I don't have many options. I find that for what my options are, the bistro definitely gives me my money's worth. Everything I have tried there is so good. The white chocolate bread pudding is to die for!!!!!

The other reviews have done a good job at describing how great this place is. It's location is convenient, the food is really good, service is always friendly and, well, it's just the perfect place to have a quick lunch. But lunch wouldn't be complete without the best bread pudding in the world!!! It's a must! Even if you live far from Merrick Park, it's worth the drive. I promise it'll be the best bread pudding ever.

My sister in law first turned me on to eating here one day while shopping at Merrick. I was reluctant bc i assumed it was "mall food" and i couldn't be bothered....boy was i wrong! Crab bisque, bistro club, white chocolate bread pudding. To. Die. For. I love that you can pay w your Nordys card too! The wait time around the lunch hour is the only con...it can get lengthy! But its a great option to have while doing some shopping!

  • Maite R.

I am a huge fan of the food - fresh, high quality. I have tried dishes, salads, soups, pizzas, sandwiches ... always impressed. Service is pretty good, but the only thing I don't like is that set up of order, pay, find a table (if you can), etc. It's a bit of a pain. Beware the lunch crowd. Try to beat it. It's BAD. Line to the escalator bad, but I guess that's a testament to the quality. Must tries: crab bisque, pizzas, salads.

  • Luis Pablo A.

This is really a great place to eat! the food quality is really good, in fact awesome! They serve the best french fries I can remember, and the calamata olives spread is fabulous. the steaks are really steak house quality and with a very very reasonable price. Surprisingly, you can walk through Nordstrom looking at the sometimes ridiculous high prices on the cloths, but you can reach the Bistro and eat with less than $20 per person, it looks like getting in the twilight light zone, the Bistro Zone! Great for Kids with a Menu for them that definitely is appealing for them. I wonder if it is like that in all Nordstroms, does anybody knows?

This is one of my favorite little places in the Gables. Whether I'm meeting friends or just having some time to myself, this is the place that never lets me down. 1) The Crab Bisque is a staple. This is honestly one of the best I've had. 2) Truffle Fries and Olive Aioli - simply amazing. 3) The Bistro Club is a great go-to item that satisfies any craving. 4) And then there's the Bread Pudding. Wow. Honesty - this just has to be experienced. I can't even describe it. Have it once and you'll be making excuses to go back. (One of my friends even replaced birthday cake with it one year.) The staff is also very courteous and they will validate your parking (good for three hours of Merrick Park's Garage time) with any purchase. If nothing else, that's a heck of a selling point in the Gables. You're welcome. ;)

Nordstrom...How do I love thee? Let me count the ways... I absolutely love shopping at Nordstrom and when I'm done there's nothing I look forward to more than satisfying my appetite at their bistro. They have a nice variety of food- soups, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and even steaks for those with a heartier appetite. Now for some of my favorites: First, crab bisque soup. I do offer this disclaimer though, if you're counting calories then stay away because it is made with cream. It is very rich and creamy so I usually get the cup because otherwise it's too much for me. Second, my favorite salads are the Warm Asian Glazed Chicken salad and the Chicken & Goat Cheese salad. I love the teriyaki and sesame chicken with bits of red pepper, and the cilantro adds a nice clean flavor to it. Anything that has goat cheese I am automatically attracted to and their goat cheese salad is no exception. Their sandwiches and pizzas are also wonderful. My favorite is the wild mushroom & herb ricotta pizza. It has a nice sweet taste from the caramelized onions and the herb ricotta adds just the right amount of richness. Their pizzas are cooked in a brick oven so they get that nice flavor to them- this pizza reminds me of the pizzas I had when I was in Italy! Also, their fries have that "you can't eat just one effect" on you. They are nice and thin and perfectly crispy on the outside. They season them with herbs which are perfect to be eaten by itself but made even better with the kalamata olive aioli. And lastly, the ultimate dessert: white chocolate bread pudding. Another disclaimer- You might have a Harry Met Sally moment when eating this so eaters beware!! My hubby and I always share because it's a pretty big piece and I want to share the calories. The bread is just slightly toasty on the outside but soft and oh so moist on the inside. The white chocolate sauce is just heavenly!!! All in all, this is one place we frequent quite often because we are always guaranteed good food and great service!

The food is fresh either if it's a soup, salad, sandwich or entree! These are the three things I absolutely LOVE from this place: 1.) Crab bisque soup (creamy goodness in your stomach you won't want it to end!) 2.) Calamata Olive Tapenade (This comes with their fries! I sometimes slather some on my sandwich too! Yes it's that good!) 3.) Bread Pudding (This is literally the best bread pudding I've tasted, it comes lightly drizzled with white chocolate alongside fresh fruit and mint. Simply delicious!!! My friend has actually found the recipe and made it and it's definitely NOT the healthiest but a couple big bites every now and then can't hurt :D ) I've gotten various sandwiches and entrees and they've been good. Yes, the portions are small for the price your paying but it's Nordstrom, what do you expect? Also, because it's "bistro" style you may have to wait for a table it it's full. It's usually full any day of the week for lunch time. Plus you get free parking with validation! If you go, definitely order the 3 things I listed at the top of this review :)

We really enjoyed our lunch here and the much needed respite from shopping. We shared the stone fruit salad and the rotated chicken with basil parmesan fries. Both were excellent and tasty. The salad was made with amazingly fresh baby greens ands various dried friuts topped with almonds and creamy cheese. Threw chicken was very good although the pink sauce that came on the side was yuk...unnecessary as the chicken if great without it. Fries were awesome! The unsweetened ice tea was great and did not have a bitterness that most others do from overbrewing. The atmosphere here beats the food court and the servers are very attentive. Would def. go back again.

I like this place- the menu is simple and to the point. The food is good and the service was even better.

Eating food at a Department Store????? You have to check out the Bistro at Nordstrom. This is one of my favorite places to eat for one simple reason. The Bread Pudding Dessert. It is so good!!! Maybe the best in the world. Anyway, overall all the food is great here and service is always good. Only negative lately is that the food prices have shot up! A lot! Good thing is that quality has not gone down.

They get the forth star for location - It is a simple concept, order first, grab a table, enjoy a hearty meal in a pretty cool place- Simple menu with pretty good choices for all palates. Only drawback might be that at lunch time there might be a wait, now if you are shopping and enjoying good company, there is nothing to it but if you have limited time for lunch, it may be an issue- Either way, it is a great alternative if you find yourself in Merrick Park which is pretty cool in itself - Make sure to grab an item or two while you cruise through Nordstrom, mindless shopping is good for the spirit.

This place is a very pleasant surprise to find in a department store. Although they don't have the largest selection of choices, the food they make is good and fresh. It makes for a very pleasant break from the challenges of shopping. :) If you want a little extra fun, sit at the bar and watch the folks preparing the food in the open kitchen.

Food is delicious! You order up front, and then relax as your food and drink comes to you. Nice to take a break from shopping and eat some delicous food

This bistro is one of my favorites. The French Onion Soup is amazing. I have tried also the pizzas and the salads which have always been very fresh and very tasty. The service has also always been great as well and very friendly.

Simple, yet very tasty menu. For lunch get, here early, or stand in line...so others must agree that this place has the goods. Soups, salads, sandwiches, and some other delightful entrees, take your pick. NOTHING is bad here. For lunch start of with the crab soup with a crustini; then go with the bistro club, complimented with lightly seasoned fries and of course the calamata olive tapenade... perfect. That olive tapenade I think would be great on ANYTHING. Also, the scallops with cous cous in a ginger broth...MMMMmmmmmm...another favorite. Don't pass on dessert. The Bread pudding is served warm with 3 sauces on the side; white chocolate sauce, raspberry sauce and caramel sauce. My persoanl fav, the white chocolate sauce (ask for a spare !!) Watch the open kitchen and the controlled chaos , like a beehive; everyone has their assigned tasks and it all gets done without error. This place does just right by the menu and service. In a wonderfully decorated mall, tucked away on the 3rd floor, you'll enjoy it.

Crab bisque, Asian salad, Turkey sandwich and fries, etc... everything I've tried is delicious. The servers are quick and the tables are spread out, so you don't feel overwhelmed by other peoples conversations. Lunch time can get hectic but overall can't complain since option B is available , takeout!

The place it's very pretty, and service amazing. I do have a problem with the food. I wasn't that impress. I tried the steak sandwich, and little did I knew, it came out rare, then later I was told that at the registers I had to say how I wanted the meat cooked - even when the cashier doesn't ask.- Well, lesson learned! So I asked if it they could change for another thing, fortunately they agreed. So I ordered something that I was sure I was going to like, the Chicken Bistro sandwich... wrong! The chicken tasted like a cheap version of deli chicken sliced. Two for two! To top it off, I ordered the triple berry shortcake to go, just to learn- after I ordered and paid for it - that they ran out of it. That's ok, it happens, so I asked for a crème brulee instead. When it came back, it was in a little round box, maybe a soup one, and it looked very sad. It actually looked like someone chewed it before putting it in the container. My friend's first words about that were: "now, that's rude". If it weren't for her amazing bread pudding I would have gave this place even a lower rating. I will not go back again.

The Nordstrom's in Merrick Park is the place for good food on any day, get anything as long as you get the fries and kalamata olive aioli, sure to please... follow up with the White Chocolate Bread pudding, sure you'll be back!!! Tried Dadeland Nordstroms, smaller busier, not as good of an experience, 3 stars...

I went to the Bistro today to grab a bite with my Tia and the food and service are outstanding.. I started with the Manhattan Clam Chowder which was delicious and then had the Bistro Club- loooove it! Our server was very attentive and super nice.. If you're in the Gables during lunch, make a pit stop at Nordstrom for lunch (and perhaps a little shopping!).

My family and friends really enjoy having lunch or dinner here. The food is always excellent (gourmet recipes and quality ingredients- Nordstrom even sells a book containing their most popular recipes). Consistency is key here. When you arrive, you select your meal and pay for it at the entrance. You will then be seated (usually right away- unless they are really packed- this is sometimes the case during lunch time and on the weekends. The service is always excellent here as well. We have had many of the dishes here- their salads are awesome- the Nicoise Salad with Salmon and the Cilantro LIme Shrimp Salad are really tasty. With regards to the sandwiches, we have had the Citrus Turkey, and the Prime Rib French Dip (both excellent). We have also had their Margherita Piza (excellent thin crust and great sauce with fresh basil). Under their specialties, we have had the Sauteed Chicken and Angel Hair Pasta- delicious, their Roast Chicken and French Fries (thin and crispy sprinkled with rosemary- incredible) the Flat Iron Steak (great). When it comes to their desserts, we have had their Creme Brulee, their Bread Pudding, and their Strawberry Shortcake... It's all great. Their food is well priced. It's worth a trip there- plus you get to go shopping after you eat to burn those calories!

You mention Nodstrom Cafe and I think of the Citrus Turkey Sandwich...Thanksgiving in a sandwich!! Nnatural roasted turkey breast, tomato, gruyere cheese, organic baby greens, citrus cranberry chutney with garlic aioli on toasted multi-grain ciabatta! and it comes with the best fries! crispy fries with a kalmata olive aioli...very addicting!

I was really surprised when a friend of mine said "let's have lunch at Nordstrom", more than surprised I was perplexed. I could not grasp the concept of good food inside a department store and boy was I wrong. I have now become a regular at any location of Nordstrom Cafe Bistro, and I am now a huge fan of the Crab Bisque, yes, that's right, I said Crab Bisque. This has to be among the best I've had, please try it, and forget about the cup, go for the bowl, you will thank me. They also have great salads, Cilantro Lime Shrimp is one of my favorites, the sandwiches are awesome, try the Bistro Club. Prices are very moderate, bottom line is you can't go wrong with this place.

The 'Club Sandwich'.....delicious. The 'Crab Bisque Soup'.....mouthwatering. Both very fresh and tasty. The service was also great. Will definitely go back. I'm a fan. 4 stars!

When I first wrote this review I had just discovered the deliciousness that is the Bistro at Nordstrom! Now that I'm more seasoned I must say i have found the perfect lunch spot for those afternoons when I'm sad from having worked away my Saturday morning! I cannot eat there without having a cup of Crab Bisque and no matter how stuffed my friends and I can be from eating, a bread pudding always seems to end up on our table... : ) Oh, and how could I forget the most important and delectable item on their menu?!?! The FRENCH FRIES with a kalamata olive aioli!!!! Insanely good!!

  • Tania G.

nordstrom can do no wrong- they've even mastered having great food in their stores. this bistro has great tasting food. the shrimp salad, dare i say, is quite possibly the best salad i've ever had. the club sandwich is divine & the crab bisque is finger licking good. after burning those calories from shopping, pile them back on in the bistro.

  • Naomi L.

A bistro within a department store within a mall should not be this good...But luckily for all of the real housewives of coral gables and the business lunchers IT IS! From the sandwiches to the soups to the entrees this place is better than your average cafe which in my opinion is usually more expensive than artful and more trendy than satisfying. So if you're in the gables area and have already grown tired of all the miracle mile staples try this place out and be pleasantly surprised. I recommend the Turkey&brie sandwich that was dressed w/some kind of sweet tangy marmalade.

Ok food nothing out of this world. My favorite is the Crab bisque. I've been here several times. The last time I was here I came with my husband and 2 kids. A waiter comes out of the kitchen trips on a rug and the bowl of hot soup flies into the air and goes all over my 10 month old and his stroller. We completely kept our cool not to scare the kids and no one apologized for the incident. Not even a manager came by to see if my son was ok or if he had been burnt much less offer us anything for the inconvenience. Our waiter when she realized what had happened did rush to us with napkins and helped us get the stroller clean and she did apologize way after the fact.

I just love this place! OK I love their bread pudding cake!! This bistro tucked away on the third floor of Nordstrom is perfect for a lunch with friends before, after, or during a long day of shopping but to be honest, at any time the food is consistently good.. The staff is hospitable and accommodating and they always manage to talk to me from behind the counter (it is an open kitchen) and I just love that. I love their fries but everything on their menu is good but you cant not leave this place without trying their desserts, I live close by so that makes it very dangerous for me because it is so tempting to stop by for that white chocolate bread putting cake with raspberries and chocolate on the side..mmmmm maybe?...mmmmm

  • Sarah M.

This place is SO GOOD!!!! I was completely blown away when I found this little gym in Nordstrom's. I've been there three times and I've only had the club sandwich because it's to die for, really, that delicious.

This place is great! Reasonably priced with great food selections. The olive dip is amazing with their french fries!! Somehow, whenever me and my friends can't decide on a place to go have lunch together, we always end up coming here. It's quiet and relaxing. The fountain diet coke is refreshing and the food is always great. I'm not a big fan of constantly going to chain restaurants, but this place has been a constant crowd-pleaser!

  • Drunken R.

Not to far away, hidden on the 3rd floor of Nordstrom is a cafe with some delightful dishes! You can even buy their cookbook. My favorite thing is the Cesar Salad, yes it's the best I've had (around Miami at least) and as others have mentioned, a tasty, creamy crab soup. Don't under estimate the Crème brûlée, because it's good too! Nice ambiance, I enjoy sitting, eating slowly and sketching on my drawing pad. Enjoy.

"One salmon gazpacho and a sided of kalamata olive aioli please" The Norstrom cafe has become on of my favorite bistros in Miami. This means that if they stuck some tables outside the shopping mall and put up some fancy little umbrellas HELL YES I would go on a weekend for dinner. Its is beyond me why anybody would order a sandwich here, but as soon as you try their salmon gazpacho you will never order a sandwich again. I can't believe this is actually a healthy dish, full of green beans, peppers, mango...yumm. *dip the green beans in the aioli* that's what I do! We once saw a giant piece of bake parmesan go on a salad and i've been tempted to try it ever since, but I can't cheat on my salmon. The waiters are all nice and attentive, the managers, very helpful. They always leave a mint chocolate stick on your bill, that's always a plus in my book.

Can somebody give me a 'hell yeah'??? Nordstrom's has done right by implementing a Café Bistro in each and every one of their department stores here in miami. It gives me the perfect option for lunch during those 'shoe-shopping with the girlfriend' days in either dadeland, aventura, or merrick. They have great soups, from crab bisque to french onion to the usually yummy soup of the day (if you're there on carrot soup day, ORDER IT!!) Their sandwiches are a bit pricey (around $10) but they're good sized, crunchy and very yummy. Ham & swiss are top picks. They also make some really good pizzas as well. They also make what i consider the best fries you can eat in miami. Always crunchy and served with a delicious kalamata olive-mayo mix that's to die for. but by far one of the best items on the menu is their Blue cheese and Pear salad. A Mix of baby greens with blue cheese, pear slices, some candied pecans and a delicious cherry balsamic dressing (which they sell there) is one of the most delicious things you will ever have in your life. you must try it!

is there a better sandwhich than the bistro club??? I THINK NOT! I always say im giong to try something new, but it never happens. if you go... definetly have the Bistro Club!

This is probably one of my favorite things about Nordstrom! I love the salads and the sandwiches! Went the saturday before Mother's Day and the mall itself was packed, so I could just imagine what the bistro looked like earlier that day. I ordered the crab bisque, turkey sandwich and a little vino to wash down my lunch. Since they had a huge rush earlier they had to make some more soup. We had our sandwich first and then had the soup sans crostini (they were making these, too). The server saw how disappointed I was about the lack of crostini so he brought our table two fresh out of the oven crostini's before we left. EXCELLENT! The service here is exceptional and I'm excited for my return!

  • Lindsay G.

Uninspiring yuppy fare. My grilled chicken artichoke salad was good but nothing to write home about. I was forced to eat here seeing as it was the only option near my doctor's office that wasn't too fancy or too busy for a one-hour lunch. At least the service here is consistent, after all it is a Nordstrom's cafe.

  • Carla L.

l had heard about the yummy food here, and thought to myself "A cafe in Nordstrom, good?" l cannot deny l was a skeptic. l was highly impressed with the food, it is very, very, very good. l personally prefer their salmon, but have tasted other dishes, sandwiches and such. Anything anyone has ordered has been good. lf you have been shopping and want a nice lunch, this is the place to go. Now, at lunch you might have to wait as it is tiny, but if you dont mind waiting it will be worth it. GREAT FRlES!

This bistro tucked away on the third floor of Nordstrom's is perfect for a lunch with friends before, after, or during a long day of shopping. It is also really good for meeting friends for lunch Monday - Friday if you're in the Gables. Especially because you won't have to fight traffic, instead park in the garage and head on in. There might be a small wait but nothing too crazy. The staff is hospitable and accommodating and I've seen them start talking to folks while they're in line and that's always nice. I love their fries but everything on their menu is good.

  • Maria T.

Whenever I'm getting my shopping on at Merrick or Aventura, this restaurant is my good ole faithful. I absolutely love the Crab Bisque soup and Blue Cheese and Pear salad. Also, the olive/mayonnaise-y dip that gets served with the fries is ridiculously yummy. The service here is ALWAYS on point...waitstaff here are gregarious and don't give you the evil eye when they see you've come with your offspring, which is always a plus. Speaking of kids, they have an excellent kids menu here. So the next time your at the aforementioned malls, do try this place. It's located on the third floor of Nordstrom in Merrick and on the second floor in Aventura.

I've eaten at Cafe Bistro more times than I care to admit to... Most of the items on the menu are really good. The shinning star of the menu is most definitely the crab bisque though. If you haven't gone to Bistro and ordered the crab bisque, you are seriously missing out. It is the perfect balance of creamy and spicy, with chunks of crab meat and is served with a parmesan crusted piece of french bread. YUM!

Love this place! I recommend the sauteed chicken with angel hair pasta - INCREDIBLE. Great atmosphere, great food. Make sure to have cash for tip because you pay for your food first and seat yourself.

  • Paul S.

I have to say that when I first heard of this Bistro thing I was kind of thinking, " okay I am going to pay a lot for food that is not going to be good" boy was I wrong ! The food here is WOW ! I went with my co-worker after work and after our saturday workouts in Equinox and I have to say once again WOW and it was worth every penny. I got a fresh sandwich with turkey and may I add the fries here are off the chain ! Really great place to enjoy an awesome tasty plate.

My gf always raves about this place, so naturally I wanted to check it out since I am a fan of good food. Saturday was the perfect day to go as we both needed to shop for Mothers Day. The bistro had a really cool set up, and their menu had a large variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches. The Citron Turkey was delicious, and the Crab Bisque was amazing!! The only downside to the experience was the fact that the bistro had run out of alot of items on their menu due to how busy the rush must have been earlier in the day since it's a popular shopping day. Our soups came after our sandwiches, and the crostini's were not ready on time. The food was great though, and I do see myself coming back!

  • Dr. C.

Definitely a FAN of this place. I will go to Merrick Park just to eat here. Not even to shop, just go have a bite at the BISTRO. Let's see, its a sit down restaurant, however you order up at the register then sit and they bring it out to you. So much to love here... the price is fair, the soups are great! Amazing french onion soup and the lobster bisque is great, espically with this cold weather! yesterday i had the chef's speciality which i told changes every week. a pulled pork sandwich, not your typical traditional pulled pork either, nice ciabatta bun, with cold pulled pork and a mayonaise based aioli that made the sandiwch very tasty, the fries are thin and crispy and served with a olive aioli, i am NOT a fan of olives at all but this dressing is amazing. something different for the fries that no one else seems to offer. i went during lunch hour, super slammed there yet the food still came out fast and our server was attentive. great time and the little chocolate mint sticks at the end are a nice finish to the meal all making it worth leaving that little extra tip for the server, haha. the lime ciliantro shrimp salad was great, and i have had the sirlion sandwich,, also a winnner. Beats the pants off fast food and is a bit more causal than sitting in another restaurant in the area!

  • Zabrina G.

I agree whole heartedly with the rest of the revews. My boss took a group of us here last week for a quick lunch and everything we ordered was great. I had the cilantro lime shrimp salad, it was full of flavor and great texture! I'm suprised that no one has mentioned the warm bread pudding with white chocolate and raspberry sauce!

  • Paul S.

This is one of my favorite lunch places. They have delicious soups, salads, sandwiches and pizzas. They also have several entrees and specials. The food is always well-prepared and with quality ingredients. My favorite is the club sandwich, but the other sandwiches are also very good. The servers are friendly and it's a relaxed atmosphere. They also make a great cup of coffee. I think the prices are reasonable, given the quality of the food that is served. As others have stated, there can be a short wait at lunchtime when they are really busy. They also validate your parking garage ticket for 3 hrs too.

  • Trina R.

I eat here whenever I am at Nordstrom. Definitely try the crab bisque, its amazing. I also enjoy the bistro club sandwich and for dessert the white chocolate bread pudding. Definitely a lot of calories but worth it!

You can't go wrong at the Nordstrom Cafe Bistro at Merrick. Great sandwiches and even better fries ( a little salty but oh so good). I have ordered just about every sandwich on the menu and have never been disappointed. Love the chocolate mints too.

  • Marc M.

I love the Nordstrom Cafe (and the one at Bloomingdales too...); the ambience is good, the noise level is good, the food is excellent, the prices are good. It's not the super-duper restaurant of the world, but, man, for a quick sandwich or some other light fare, you can't beat it.

I visited this location with my sister for the first time on Saturday 1/30/10 for lunch. We have been to the Café Bistro in Dadeland Mall for lunch before many times and we have never been disappointed. The service is great and the food has always been excellent. The setting is casual and very comfortable. On this day I had the Roast Sirloin Ciabatta which includes thinly sliced sirloin(comes medium rare but you can choose your temp), arugula, roma tomato, caramelized onions, and garlic aioli on a parmesan ciabatta. The thinly slice seasoned fries are some of the best. My sister had the Chicken and Angel Hair Pasta which includes grilled chicken, basil peston, parmesan cheese, and roasted garlic tomato sauce. She loved it. I also added a cup of their famous Crab Bisque Soup which was out of this world! It was my first time having it and it did not disappoint. If your into chocolate cake their Chocolate Paradise Cake is a homerun and a perfect ending to an awesome lunch. Will definitely keep visiting the Café Bistro in the future!

  • Nabila Y.

  • Sydney M.

    (3)
  • Amanda P.

    (4)
  • Jenny G.

Delicious bowl of crab bisque, also had the club sandwich which was very tasty. To top it off we ordered the bread pudding it is served warm with white melted chocolate and raspberry. amazing atmosphere, servers were on top of making sure that everything was well at the table.

  • Katherine M.

  • Don O.

  • Jessica P.

Love it .

Came here for lunch with the girls from work. Located on the third floor of Nordstrom's.The place was super busy. We were greeted by Andrew(very sweet) He handed us our menus while we waited in line to order our food. He offered us samples of the soup of the day!! We ordered Pizza(yum) Ham & swiss(just ok) Turkey& apple sanwhich (ok) The dishes coming from the kitchen were beautiful. Hope to love my next dish from here

  • Gustavo A. L.

  • Eschel H.

  • Lorraine S.

  • Eddy A.

I love the Nordstrom Cafe (and the one at Bloomingdales too...); the ambience is good, the noise level is good, the food is excellent, the prices are good. It's not the super-duper restaurant of the world, but, man, for a quick sandwich or some other light fare, you can't beat it.

Actually, I had a fast take-out order there last week.

I work in the mall so when it's time for lunch, I don't have many options. I find that for what my options are, the bistro definitely gives me my money's worth. Everything I have tried there is so good. The white chocolate bread pudding is to die for!!!!!

I love this place! I sometimes go to the mall just to have lunch/dinner here. Everything on the menu is great! Best French fries I've ever had.

Best place for lunch! I like to order a half a sandwich with a soup. All the sandwiches are delicious! Check the chef specials.

Always consistent, very high quality food, service is always professional and courteous and one of the best lunch options in Coral Gables.

The food is simple, fresh, inexpensive, and tasty. Amazing soups, salads, and sandwiches. Now if they only had a place like this in Brickell? I could eat here every day!

You're welcome. ;)
